2004 Tahoe Door Key Lock Not Working

This is driving me crazy.

2004 tahoe door key lock not working. Open the door with the broken or damaged actuator from the inside of the vehicle. The problem turned out to be that the fuse for my cigarette lighter was bad and for some reason it also must be working in order for the door locks to work. The relay seems to be working for the door locks when i hit the remote but the locks do not respond and the fuse is still good for the door lock. If you don t have a spare remote you may be able to buy a used one or get one from your local dealership.

Get into the vehicle from another door if the door you are working on will not let you enter the vehicle. It only happens to back doors and whenever it is hot outside in phx is all the time. The only button that works is the driver side window. The locks cyc.

When tahoe parked outside depending on what side of vehicle is being hit by the sun the back doors will not unlock with key fob or door lock buttons. Put in a new cigarette lighter fuse and the door locks worked again. Try operating the door lock switch to rule out the idea that the door lock is not working. Both my remote entry fobs for my 2004 silverado quit working at the same time.

At this point you ll want to check and make sure that your physical key or emergency valet key is able to work the locks. Put in a new cigarette lighter fuse and the door locks worked again. However there could also be a mechanical or electrical problem with the door locks. But cannot get the on off on off while holding the lock and unlock buttons on the key fob to work.

For vehicles with traditional style door lock cylinders and keys a bad power door lock relay will merely disable the power door lock feature. However vehicles without door lock cylinders will not be able to lock or unlock the doors until power is restored. Rule out the door lock.
