Hey guys have an 03 silverado and just started having a problem with my drivers side door.
2004 gmc truck driver door window will not work. Gmc power window trouble shooting is not difficult but it requires knowledge of the system. The switch for the passenger window does work though as well as the power locks and power mirror adjusters so i know the door has power. Also the power mirror adjusts the drivers side but not the passengerside. The first two times however my window was in the up position.
Passengers window works fine drivers worked when you slammed door now nothing. And got a new switch. The regulator doesn t make any noise the window doesn t move nothing. Then i ran a hot wire to the green wire in the harness and plugged the switch back in and it works.
I have no power to my window switches mirror switch locks lights and doesn t ding when door is open with key in ignition. Passenger side works find though. If it still does not work the module will need to be changed and the new one programmed with the vehicle s vin number failing which it will not work. Same problem on my 2001 2500hd.
Another thing i just noticed is that when i put it in drive it will lock. Thanks i have a 2003 gmc sierra 1500. This time it is half way down. The window is stuck in the up position thankfully but whenever i push the switch to roll it down nothing happens.
Yes the power window and lock button on the passenger side door do not work. The buttons from the drivers side for the passenger side do not work either but the drivers side window and lock work fine. My driver side window will not go up or down and my door locks won t work either. Odd that i have 4 5 volts at the plug to the window motor when the switch is activated even with the new switch and 12 volts to the switch and the window lock out does not stop the other switches from.
Problems with power windows can be irritating and cause discomfort for those in the vehicle. I have a 2004 gmc canyon. The hot wire must have broke in the door jam.
